Hipgnosis Songs Fund announced Monday (Jan. 4) that it has purchased the music catalog of Jimmy Iovine — the legendary music producer and executive who co-founded Interscope Records and Beats Electronics — adding to the investment company’s growing collection of high-profile catalogs.
The deal gives Hipgnosis 100% of Iovine’s worldwide producer royalties across 259 songs, as well as his film production royalties for two films he co-produced: 8 Mile starring Eminem and Get Rich or Die Tryin’ starring 50 Cent.

The six-time Grammy award winner said in a social media post on Tuesday night that he was thankful for well wishes from friends, family and fans. TMZ reported that he had a brain aneurysm on Monday and was recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre. Dre did not give a reason for his hospitalisation.
“I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team,” he said. “I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!” More details to come
