Lil Nas X Reacts To his song “Old Town Road” Being Removed From Hot Country Songs Chart On Billboard due to racism

(TIML NEWS) Just days ago, Lil Nas X celebrated becoming the first artist to have a song make the Hot 100, Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs, and Hot Country Songs charts at the same time. However, according to Rolling Stone, “Old Town Road” will no longer be considered Country by Billboard.

Columbia Records was reportedly informed that LNX’s inclusion on the Hot Country Songs tally was an error. Billboard justified the decision by claiming the record “does not embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version. Sounds like some rascist bullshit to me.

Meanwhile, “Old Town Road” remains a force on other music rankings. The song currently sits at #1 on Apple Music’s Top 100 USA chart, #3 on Spotify’s Top 200 US chart, #12 on Billboard‘s Hot Songs Chart, #13 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, #17 on the Streaming Songs chart, and #32 on the Hot 100 chart.

In addition, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” music video gained another 2 million YouTube views over the last three days. It now has more than 14.4 million total plays on the platform. The amount of “Lil Nas X” searches on Google have skyrocketed over the last month as well.
