(TIML NEWS) Stories like this needs to be celebrated and talked about more…One precocious boy’s love of books not only inspired readers across the globe, but his parents as well. According to The Root, Caleb Green embarked on a literary journey to read 100 books in one day.
With an ambition to read like his big sister – and a few dance and pizza breaks – the 4-year-old bookworm completed his goal and expressed his joy on Facebook through his parents’ livestream of the momentous achievement. You can also watch more videos of his conquest here.
“I was like, 100, son? That’s a lot of books,” Sylus Green, the boy’s father, said to ABC News. “So at first I had the gut reaction to talk him down a little bit, but he was like, ‘No, I want to read 100.’” Through their community, Caleb received more books throughout the day to reach his goal.
“I learned to just dream bigger and I am going to set unrealistic goals for myself this coming year and I’m going to be inspired by Caleb to not quit on it and just push through it,” the Chicago boy’s father said.
Once he hits his 20s, Caleb said he plans to become a basketball player followed by a career as an astronaut, and he plans to top that off by becoming a “Ninja turtle” when he’s 23.
