(TIML TECH) Some of you have noticed that over the past week that a mysterious rocket-shaped icon has appeared inside Facebook’s mobile app. But, what is it?

Apparently, Facebook has been testing ways to deliver news across the platform. According to Mashable, the icon — which shows up right next to the main news feed icon — displays popular posts from people and pages that you yet to befriend or like.

It is also said to bring up content relevant to location, stories based on the user’s “liked” pages and interests.

I’ve  noticed it in my app, but it has disappeared since.

It’s unclear if or when the rocket button will be officially rolled out. Stay tuned…
