(TIML NEWS) Things seem to be getting pretty ugly between Robin Thicke and his ex-wife and former high school sweetheart, actress Paula Patton.
Police officials were recently called to Patton’s Calabasas home, just this past Friday, on January 13th, in connection to what is seen as an ongoing custody battle between she and Thicke, according to statements from a rep of the Hill Sheriffs Station.
“All I can say is that basically we had a call to respond for a civil matter,” the rep told Us. “No action was taken on our part, no report was written. It was completely civil.”
According to TMZ, Thicke, 39, called the cops to Patton’s home on Friday morning because she’d allegedly violated their custody order when refusing to release their child, 6-year-old Julian, to the ‘Blurred Lines’ singer, per their written agreement.
In a video that was posted to the US Weekly site, Patton, 41, is seen giving the officers all of her information and even thanking them for showing up.
Thicke doesn’t appear in this video.
The site also reports that Thicke went into the home and spoke to their son, who’d admitted that he was afraid to leave with his father.
Thicke eventually left.
As the media outlet had previously reported, Thicke is now under an investigation with the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services amid all of the allegations of child abuse for spanking he and Patton’s son.
According to court docs, Julian allegedly told some school officials that his father had spanked him on more than one occasion, which then caused the school to send a report to the DCFS on January 3rd.
The singer was interviewed on January 12th.
Thicke obviously denied any wrongdoing, saying in court docs that were obtained by Us, “On a very rare occasion and only as a last resort, I will use light spanking, but it is consistent with the law — open hand on the butt. This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage.”
For her part in the situation, Patton had reportedly filed an emergency order, requesting that a judge restrict the singer’s time with his son to daytime visitation only. She’d also alleged in court documents that ever since “Julian knows that [Thicke] is being told about Julian’s complaints, Julian’s behavior has become very concerning.”
“It is my belief that Paula holds residual anger towards me because I and my family would not permit her or her family to attend the funeral of my father on December 20, 2016,” the singer alleges in the papers. “Paula did not have a positive relationship with my father … As such, she was not welcome at his funeral. It is my belief that Paula only wanted to attend because it would have resulted in additional public exposure for her.”
