This just keeps getting messier and messier. Sources have come out of the woodwork to give an explanation to what the real cause of the infamous elevator fight between hip hop first family members, Solange Knowles and her brother-in-law Jay Z.

With Jay Z, Beyoncé and Solange all keeping quiet about the incident in the elevator at the Standard Hotel after the Met Ball, many have been wondering and speculating about the cause of Solange physically attacking Jay Z.

The Daily News has received information from two unnamed sources about the real reason for Solange losing control. According to the sources, it all started when 2 of Solange’s friends came to the Standard Hotel, unannounced and underdressed, trying to gain access to the Met Ball and caused a scene.

“They wouldn’t leave and kept name dropping Jay Z. They were pretending they were guests of his and not hers. Management went to Julius (Beyoncé’s bodyguard) and said there’s a problem.”

The source then told The Daily News that Jay Z found out what had occurred and told Solange, “don’t use my name.” That apparently didn’t sit well with her.

A second Daily News source said Jay Z mentioned that he would be going to Rihanna’s Met Ball after party at Up & Down. Jay’s team called ahead and said he “didn’t need extra security” since Beyoncé would not be coming along with him.

This is where Solange loses it.

“She said, ‘Why can’t you go home?’ and to Beyoncé ‘Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?””

Jay Z then replied, “you’re one to talk.”

After they were all in the elevator, all hell broke loose, which was captured on the hotel’s surveillance footage which went viral on Monday, thanks to TMZ.

Jay Z ended up cancelling his plans to go to Rihanna’s party.
